Indonesian Constitutional Court International Symposium (ICCIS)
“Constitutional Courts, Ideology and Democracy in Plural Society”


Solo, August 9-11, 2017

The establishment of the Indonesian Constitutional Court in 2003 cannot be separated from the development of the idea of democratic constitutional state. The Court was mandated to uphold constitutional values, strengthen checks and balances mechanism, and protect the human rights of citizens. In doing so, the Court endorse any event to widespread democratic constitutional idea and its relevant issues i.e human rights, ideology, and pluralism.
The Indonesian Constitutional Court will host International Symposium. The event will discuss “Constitutional Courts, Ideology and Democracy In Plural Society”.
The Symposium will feature keynote speech as well as three plenary sessions featuring jurists, scholars and decision-makers with focus on the theme of ICCIS 2017. The core of the Symposium dedicated to the presentation of papers selected through this Call.
The Court welcomes paper related to the ICCIS 2017 theme. We particularly encourage submission of full length paper (20-22 pages) using the APA Referencing System. Accepted paper will be published at Constitutional Review Journal. All submissions, with CV attachment, must be sent to iccis@mkri.id by July 10, 2017. Successful applicants will be notified by July 20, 2017.
All successful applicants, local and international, will be fully funded for their airfare tickets (return) and hotel accommodation.
